Like many of you, we have already launched into a new school year. After two weeks, we are discovering what works well and what doesn't! We are also adding more subjects as we go, which I refer to as a rolling start. I learned a long time ago that we need a gentle start to the school year in order to avoid shock. I can promise from experience that if you try to come out with all guns blazing from day one, discouragement and burnout will come swifty. So, here a Garner Christian Academy, we start our first week with waking up on time, resuming basic chores, reviewing math, and dabbling in a bit of science.
With the start of the new year, I also have been freshening up my blog, updating pictures (new family picture under the ABOUT tab), checking links, and running general maintenance. I have a couple of blog posts in the works and am making it a priority to post a once or twice a month in the months to come.
This is where YOU come in! Please either comment on this post or send me an email about a topic you would like to see covered. It can by anything related to homeschooling such as time management, product reviews or recommendations, family issues, athletics, etc. I want to come alongside you in this journey!
My next post will be an encouraging note to those of you who are new to homeschooling, or to those who might be considering homeschooling. It will also include a link to the one-hour session I shared at NCHE's Thrive! Conference this past summer.
Until then, here is our obligatory "back to school" photo. Happy Homeschooling!
