Smiling, I realized the same is true in both parenting and in homeschooling. I know what you're thinking: it's easy to smile when it's a sunny summer day; I agree! But what gives me hope and brings a smile is how quickly I forgot those winter days filled with long hours and short patience. I've weathered many a harsh season including: postpartum depression, relentless health issues, family heartache, and what I deemed an unproductive school year! Looking back however, I realize it was a relativity short season although it seemed agonizingly slow at the time.
So if you happen to find yourself in a hard "winter" season right now, find hope in the fact that spring truly is just around the corner. Slowly but surely, the cruel cold will give way to the warmth and beauty. Surviving a bleak season fills the heart with joyful gratitude for sunny days!
